my letter to barbie
this is regarding the general fashion of barbies NOW (not the collector dolls) the new dolls that come out for
girls vs what we had in the 80s and 90s now truly SUCK! there is no originality, no layers of material, no good
themes, its really disappointing, they have made a little progress with the dreamhouse dolls but even barbie, from
the barbie dreamhouse is PLAIN and flat...idk how else to describe the majority of the outfits are just flat pieces
of fabric colored on and the same colors reused over and over and over and over and over again. idk who i need to
talk to up the food chain but between my daughter and myself we buy a lot of new as well as the older dolls,
ESPECIALLY the older dolls from the 80s and 90s because their clothes at least have some imagination. go look at
your latest inventory of dolls on the market now and see how poorly the designs are.
KEN omg yall have him GAY, watching him on the dreamhouse i just shake my head WHAT did you do to ken????
AND PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A CELEBRITY MADONNA BARBIE!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!
also yall need a realistic barbie, now what yall did in 2000 was ok, but now yall got competition with lammily, we
already ordered ours, we love ALL kinds of styles of fashion dolls but love Barbie the most.
we order dolls pretty much daily the 80-90s dolls online and the newer styles locally for my daughter and myself.
She is 10 years old and I am 31 years old. My daughter gets ideas for fashion but its hard when the styles now dont
give you much to work with and she gets great ideas from the older dolls. we have also attempted to make our own
doll clothes plus we have purchased fashion doll clothes *handmade from online sources.
my daughter is also requesting a doll to copy from the movie disney life size with tyra banks and lindsey lohan. ,
i am also frustrated with the dolls yall have, the way they look, i have googled up and down and went all over
looking for a "Dark Brown Hair Barbie with BLUE Eyes" the closest i came to that is Spring Petals Barbie Second in
Series (which I ordered) and this cheerleading doll. I wanted it for me, since those are my features. You know how
American Girl Dolls have dolls to look like the girl but why not Barbie dolls? that would be a successful new line
i think like Barbie like You or something like that.
you know what would be awesome? imagine a REAL girl of today, with the average weight and height, with dark hair
with blond and other colored streaks and shoulder length hair, with just one tattoo, blue or brown eyes, and some
nice layered fashionable outfit of what chicks are wearing nowadays
another line could be a doll whose hair grows long and then can grow short again since all girls are tempted and do
cut their dolls hair (guilty) and my daughter has as well
my daughter said another doll you wet her hair and her hair changes color
if it helps my favorite doll is Sparkle Eyes Barbie and my daughters is her Hannah Montana doll. Which i play
barbies with her, we dress up our dolls and such.
just please enough of the drabby dolls and quit being lazy with the fashion

No Sew Barbie Clothes
When I was a kid I used to LOVE to create doll clothes for my Barbies...they were no sew but they were not as good quality - mostly holes cut into fabric with string to keep the fabric in place made with old clothing.
Now that I am an adult I learned about no sew Barbie clothes such examples include using socks, which I have made a couple of outfits from, but I took it a step further. ;)
While I was grocery shopping today at Walmart, I went into the craft section specifically looking for no sew mending material...now previously I tried super glue but it didnt work as well...so that is why I went to check and found FABRIC GLUE! :D
Very excited because I KNOW fabric glue will work and DID when I made my very first doll dress and doll shorts. (dress pictured on the right, shorts pictured below left).
The BEST part is my daughter is at school and has no idea what I did today, so I am going to surprise her and bring her doll with me to pick her up so she can see what I have done.
Now it is best to use patterns (I didnt) but now I am googling some to use now. Better to use pattern so you have a fine cut and easier mend on the fabric and glue.
Why NO SEW? Im in the process of getting ready to move and have no space to drag out the sewing machine. Once I have my new home and space I will try sewing.
I hope during the winter I can learn to knit and crochet Barbie clothes. :D
The greatest thing about making your own doll clothes is you are only limited to your imagination of what you can create. Plus it saves you money on purchasing actual dolls and/or doll clothes (but we still like to do anyway). ;)
Now Ive never been crafty but I have done a couple of sewing classes but now its nice to know I can be crafty about SOMETHING. :D

Color Barbies Hair
As a kid, I also colored my Barbies hair with marker. So last night my daughter decided to color her Hannah Montana Doll and I colored mine as well...Because of the dolls hair I had colored when I was a kid she has and had seen.
It was really fun. We used Purple, PINK, orange, yellow, red, blue colors. Our dolls now have a rainbow of hair color.
idk if its washable, I really dont care if it is or isnt, because my next experiment will be bleaching hair on a test Barbie doll. The reason why I mention if washable or not because sometimes with tend to wash our Barbies hair with shampoo & conditioner or just rinsing it with water.
Anyway if you have a favorite Barbie doll that you play with, there is nothing wrong with coloring her hair just as you understand the results can be permanent. ;)

Did you ever Cut your Barbie's Hair?
I dont know what possesses us as young girls to want to cut our Barbie dolls beautiful hair when we are kids but thankfully there is a remedy once the damage is done.
This doll is my Sparkle Eyes Barbie, I cut her long luxurious hair and gorgeous bangs as a child.
I dont want to replace her with a new doll because this particular doll is MY doll and that I had had since I was a kid. It is also my daughters favorite doll as well after her Hannah Montana Doll.
So, back to my solution, you can go to Sally Beauty Supply or wherever else they sell hair extensions and sew in new hair into your dolls head. Now personally I aint good at that sort of thing so I would have someone else do it. I would go back to her original length too and probably a bright blond or may mix in pink strands as well to make her stand out.
Here is also another list based on my search:

My daughters Hannah Montana Doll is missing hair as well...so she will be getting hair extensions as well. Whats also great is there is no maintenance because well her hair will never grow like a humans! :D
Hope this helps!

How to Remove Permanent Marker off Pink Hairtastic Barbies Face??
One day my daughter was mad at me and she wrote all over my Barbie Pink Hairtastic face in permanent marker, at the time she wrote on it which was probably more than 6 months back, I didnt try to take it off and now I have tried EVERYTHING!
Ive tried:
1) Clorox Bleach
2) Pink Eraser
3) Nail Polish Remover (going to try again)
4) Rubbing Alcohol
5) Oxy Clean
6) Rubbing alcohol 2 parts 1 part Dishwashing Liquid
7) Hair Gel
8) Green Cleaner
9) Orange hand wash (for mechanics and such)
10) Goo B Gone
11) Windex
12) Fantastick
13) Multiple Purpose Solution for Soft Contact Lenses
14) plus numerous others
I googled and came up with some of these, one thing I googled that I do still need to try once I get Oxy FACE wash and saran wrap is putting the Oxy face wash on the doll and then covering her face in saran wrap and then putting her in the sun for a few hours. I saw that on a specific doll website. Source: http://dolldiaries.com/how-to-remove-sharpie-marker-stain-from-your-doll/
Plus I have been asking @BarbieCollector @Mattel @Barbie on Twitter (my twitter handle @jackieroseb) and they have been asking other Barbie fans for me. Two suggested nail polish remove (which I already tried but willing to try again) and a pink eraser (which I recently tried) .
IM NOT GIVING UP THOUGH! If you look at the doll you can see the majority has been removed. So I think I can get the rest off once I figure out a good method :) If you have any remedies please leave comments below! Thanks In Advanced! :D

I just want a Madonna Barbie Doll
Madonna has still not made as a celebrity Barbie, Cher yes, Nicki Minaj (one of a kind though for charity auction) yes but still no Madonna and she has reinvented herself plenty of times, I did find two independent doll makers that created the icon but not available for sale :( I have begged and tweeted both @Barbie @BarbieCollector @Madonna and @Mattel and emailed corporate to create the idol but still nothing

Intro to All and Everything Barbie
I decided to write a Blog All Everything Barbie because I have LOVED Barbies since I was little and now my daughter adores them as well. The pic on the top right (on the blog not the post) is my favorite Barbie - Sparkle Eye Barbie.
I would get into more detail but I have explained it numerous times on my main blog in previous posts:
